I had the opportunity last week to tell the story of YouTube star Brandon Hardesty and I had a blast. I went to his house in Maryland last week and hung out with him in his basement where he has shot and produced all of his videos–all 66 of them. He is a great guy with a quick wit and great sense of humor. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun doing the photos and video for USA TODAY. Story runs today, Tuesday in USA TODAY in the Life section in print (page 3D) and online. Here is the video.
When I saw he was totally willing to have fun with the photo-shoot I knew the video interview would be great. I even got to spend some time getting to know his mom who is a sweetheart and did a quick interview with her. Brandon said I was the first person to which she agreed for an interview on camera–cool, I’m flattered she trusted me! I think the video came out great. I just loved using editing as another tool to add to his already humorous personality and cool story. Many thanks to my boss Steve who had some great editing tips to make this story really come alive!
I look forward to seeing you on the silver screen someday soon Brandon!
Yes, last week was a full week. First TSA @ Reagan National Airport, then up to MD for this shoot and then edit the still photographs and video for both. I am so thankful for every opportunity I have with USA TODAY to tell stories and come into peoples lives–if only for a moment. To cap off the week I was privileged to tell the wedding story of Mark & Amy. I just received a text message from the bride on her honeymoon. She thanked me for all of my photographs and said I was the “star of the wedding.” She is too sweet! More to come of their photographs!
