Tony Hawk story in USA TODAY
I had the opportunity to work on a really fun story about pro-skateboarder Tony Hawk recently. It ran on the cover of the Money page in the paper today and the video story I produced, shot, and edited aired on our site today. Even if you’re not a die-hard skater like the rest of the readers on this blog (?!) I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! You can see some of my photographs and watch the video here.
I grew up skateboarding and was really into it when I was 13. I looked up to Hawk then and now some 15 years later I got to meet the guy and spend half of a day with him in his corporate offices in San Diego, CA. I had a blast!
Great job on the video, Garrett! Loved the 360 filming of the overhead trick, the ‘apple pie’ splicing, and my favorite line, “I don’t know if anyone can beat me here at the office…”
You’re great at giving meaning to your compliments with details Jill 🙂
thanks!
yeah, Hawk is just lucky I was filming. Otherwise I would have shown him who’s boss at his own video game!
cool story dude. me gusta. you’ve been cranking out some really good work.
Wow!!!!!!!!
Mom
Spinski-thanks so much for the compliments.
Garrett,
GREAT video! Your video captured Tony Hawk’s talent, success and the “all American boy”. He seems unpretentious, honest and fun. You are so creative and talented.
Heidi
You seem to be living a dream, Garrett. Incredible! Man, the Father sure does have some amazing stuff in store for his kids… 🙂
Heidi. thanks. he was very unpretentious and a really fun guy with which to spend my day.
Natalie. Yes, you are right. Every good and perfect gift comes from above… Keep up the good work over there!
