Last year I was hired to come in on the ground level with a video series for The Washington Post. After seven years in the news media industry, most of which I spent at USA TODAY, I was eager to jump back into that world and tell some real stories and collaborate with some very smart journalists. Working with the team I was able to help cast the vision for the visual aesthetic, format, and style. Many of my suggestions and the choices we made were so we could help people forget they are watching a video so they could really dive into the stories and relate to their personal victories and struggles. This is part 2 of 3. I am excited to continue this project with The Washington Post and The Maynard Institute for Journalism later this year.
