I am so humbled friends. Thank you for encouraging me with such beautiful stories and pieces of art.
The students from Heidi’s class made me some awesome thank-you’s and wrote me some heart warming notes of how my lecture impacted them. See blog post about my lecture and visit here as well as some of the feedback from over 30 students. One of the biggest blessings of these pieces of art and notes is that I received them on a particularly tough day for me. As I read one of them after church on Sunday I struggled to keep back the tears as I read one letter in particular. Now, let me say that I do not recommend getting misty-eyed before ordering a sandwich at your local eatery. I couldn’t help myself. As I read this letter I couldn’t believe that the student responded with such a beautiful action of service that she will be involved with for quite some time. I remember that this is why I am a visual storyteller–so that people might respond to a story in a very real way.
I received such a wide array of notes, letters, posters, photographs, framed notes, framed photographs, notes in a bottle (!), custom music cd’s (I played music for them for one of the slide shows), and even a newspaper! I haven’t even had time to go through all of them yet! I don’t want to share all of them here because they were written for me and I want to keep some of that for just for me. If you ever come over to my house and ask I’d be happy to share the stories with you in person 🙂 Or show you some of their work I’m going to put up in my garage.
Here are two really amazing visual stories from the creative minds of Renee (left) and Tara (right). Most impressive! You’re speakin’ my language here!
